In general, it is spread from person to person mainly through respiratory infections. When people infected with tuberculosis cough, sneeze or speak loud, they emit a large number of tiny droplets containing tubercle bacillus; if they spit in public, it may result in a fact that dust containing tubercle bacillus suspend in the air when the sputum is dried and rises in the wind. Once a person has inhaled those droplets and dust, he may be infected. Infection by tubercle bacillus does not necessarily lead to tuberculosis, but only when the body's resistance is reduced.

①Tuberculosis patients should avoid others and cover their mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

②Patients with TB should not spit anywhere, but spit in a covered spittoon with disinfectant, or in a disinfectant wet tissue or sealed spit bag if it is inconvenient.

③TB patients should try not to go to crowded public places, and if they must, they should wear a mask.

④TB patients treated at home should try to live in a separate room from others, keep the room ventilated and wear a mask to prevent family members from being infected.

⑤Tuberculosis can be prevented and treated. Strengthening nutrition and improving the body's resistance can help prevent TB.
